Scuba Diving

The north coast of Holguin province is a prime location for scuba diving. Beginners and diving enthusiasts who are staying in the resort areas near Guardalavaca and Rafael Freyre, can easily book excursions to enjoy diving in the warm and clear waters inhabited by a complex and colorful marine life.

Several types of dives are offered, day and night dives, at different depth, in coral reefs, shipwrecks and caves. It's possible to make up to 2 dives per day. The dive centers also offer courses (different levels) with the internationally recognized ACUC certification. Note that the American PADI certification cannot be validated in Cuba due to the economic embargo.

Accepted certifications for the divers include: PADI, CMAS, NAUI, SSI, FEDAS, and ACUC. Beginners are required to take the introductory lesson given at the hotels' pool before the diving excursion.

Prices are per person, packages cannot be shared. No discount is given for using your own gear.

You can book and pay diving excursions from the tour operator representatives at your hotel, transfer to the marina is included. For the first departure, pick up times are between 8:30 and 9:00 (depending on hotel). For the second departure pick up times are between 10:30 and 11:00 (depending on hotel).
